Stress-Free Family & Dog Photography
Studio Established 2008
Getting a dog photoshoot booked often feels like something you’ll do “one day”. Life gets busy, puppies grow up, and before you realise it, those little expressions you love – the head tilts, the bright eyes, the greying whiskers, have already changed.
Many dog owners around Hinckley tell us they’ve delayed booking because they weren’t sure their dog would behave, worried the experience might feel rushed, or wondered whether it would really be worth the effort. A lot of them say they prefer something properly planned and unrushed, rather than a quick photoshoot squeezed in around a busy day. They didn’t want stiff poses or stressful sessions — they wanted portraits that actually felt like their dog.
That’s exactly why our dog photography sessions are designed to be calm, private, and fully guided. Our purpose-built indoor studio is based in Lutterworth, around 12 miles from Hinckley, making it an easy, straightforward visit from areas like Burbage, Barwell, and Earl Shilton. There’s no pressure, no rushing, and plenty of time for your dog to settle — just patience, gentle direction, and an experience built around your dog’s comfort.
When dogs feel relaxed, their real personality comes through naturally. Those moments become timeless portraits and beautiful wall art you’ll enjoy seeing in your home every single day, long after this stage has passed.
📍 Hinckley dog photographer John Jenkins Photography is based in a cosy indoor studio in Lutterworth, around 12 miles from Hinckley town centre. We had a fantastic experience with John at John Jenkins Photography. From start to finish, he made the whole photoshoot feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. John was brilliant with our puppy, Nala, showing plenty of patience and understanding, which made a huge difference and put us all at ease.

And if you’re not sure what to wear, when to book, or whether your dog will cooperate (they might not, and that’s okay)—we’ll talk through it all. This is your session, not ours. Have a look at our guide ‘How to Prepare Your Dog for a Photo Shoot‘. Or give us a call to go over your ideas.
We recently won a competition with John Jenkins Photography and had a wonderful experience whilst there. John himself was not only great with us, but also our dog, Maxy… the kind of dog that you instantly regret taking out in public!

Seeing the photos for the first time was amazing. John captured our dog’s personality perfectly and we honestly struggled to choose because we loved so many of them. The viewing session was relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure at all.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking “we’ll do it soon”, you’re not alone. Most dog owners from Hinckley tell us they waited longer than they meant to until their puppy wasn’t quite so small, or their older dog had already started to slow down.
Booking now means you don’t miss this stage. It means turning today’s personality, expressions, and little quirks into artwork you can enjoy every single day on your wall not something you wish you’d done sooner.
Our studio sessions are intentionally limited so every dog gets calm, unhurried attention. Availability does fill quickly, especially at weekends, so if this feels like the right moment, it probably is.
Book your dog photography session today and create portraits you’ll be grateful you didn’t put off.

Your session will take place in our custom studio, purpose-built for families and owners who want an experience that’s calm, fun, and free from distractions. Unlike busy high-street photo chains or multi-shooter franchises, here you’ll enjoy:
A quiet, private environment where your family can be themselves and nervous dogs can settle
A shoot personally led by top Hinckley dog photographer John Jenkins, a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience
A session designed around you, not a production line
Two outfit changes
Two background changes (including our dramatic black backdrop)
We begin with a fun and engaging session, perfect for younger dogs and families who want to ease into the experience. We play games, chat, and keep things flowing naturally — so you can relax and just enjoy being together.
Then we transition to a more focused and emotional session using a rich dark background. These are the portraits that truly stop people in their tracks — powerful, expressive, and timeless.
Just a few days after your shoot, you’ll return to the studio for a cinematic viewing session where we’ll help you choose your favourite images.
Your photographs are professionally edited and presented in an HD movie format projected onto our big screen. It’s an emotional and joyful moment for families and owners to see their images brought to life — often with laughter, sometimes with a few tears.
From there, you can select your favourite images and choose from:
Elegant classic frames
Contemporary wall art and canvases
Stunning albums
Flexible digital formats
From handcrafted wall art to framed prints and albums, everything we offer is designed to complement your home and style. There’s no pressure — just honest guidance and space to decide what you truly love.
At larger Hinckley photo studios, you never know who will be photographing your session. But at John Jenkins Photography, every image on our website was taken by John — and he’ll be the one photographing your family & dog too.
You can trust that you’re getting the quality, warmth, and professionalism you see in our portfolio — no surprises, no hand-offs, no compromise.
Other studios may offer flashy deals or fast-paced shoots with limited time and less personalisation. We don’t do rushed. We take time to get to know your family and your dog. We deliver a one-to-one service that makes the whole experience enjoyable and memorable.
Have a four-legged family member? We love dogs — and we’re one of the few family photography studios in the Hinckley area that specializes in both family photography and has an experienced Hinckley dog photographer. To us, your dog is a very important part of the session.

John has years of experience working with a wide variety of dogs, including rescues, reactive pups, and nervous animals.

One of my top recommendations to have a great photoshoot with your dog, especially if they are full of energy or nervous, is to take your dog for a walk before hand. This calms the dog down and uses up some of that energy. There are many good dog walking parks in the Hinckley area such as Wolvey Dog Walking Field, Paws Adventure Park and Wolvey Dog Walking Field- Burton Fields to name a few.
