Stress-Free Family & Dog Photography
Studio Established 2008
Living in Leicester, finding a calm space for your dog’s photos isn’t always easy. Busy parks, unpredictable weather, muddy paws, and constant distractions can turn what should be an enjoyable experience into something stressful, especially if your dog is young, excitable, nervous, or reactive. Many Leicester dog owners tell us they want something more controlled and considered than a public outdoor shoot, where too much is left to chance.
That’s why many Leicester dog owners choose our private studio in nearby Lutterworth. Just a short drive from the city, the studio offers a quiet, controlled environment where your dog can relax without pressure. For people used to the pace and noise of city life, having a peaceful, appointment-only space makes a noticeable difference to both the experience and the final portraits. There’s no rushing, no competing for attention, and no need for perfect behaviour. Sessions are guided gently and paced around your dog.
As an experienced dog photographer near Leicester, I focus on capturing your dog’s personality in a way that feels natural and unforced. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a loyal older companion, or a dog who needs a little extra patience, the aim is always the same: timeless portraits you’ll be proud to display in your home.
Our dog photography sessions take place in our calm, private studio in Lutterworth, an easy drive from Leicester, Oadby, Wigston, Clarendon Park and Glenfield. With parking right outside and no busy studio environment, everything feels relaxed from the moment you arrive.
Sessions are appointment-only and unrushed, giving your dog time to settle so we can capture natural, expressive portraits.
We had a fantastic experience with John at John Jenkins Photography. From start to finish, he made the whole photoshoot feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. John was brilliant with our puppy, Nala, showing plenty of patience and understanding, which made a huge difference and put us all at ease.

There’s no need to worry about what to wear or how your dog will behave. John gently guides the session, allowing time for sniffing, settling, breaks and treats when needed.
Some dogs are calm, some are excitable, some have their own ideas and that’s absolutely fine. The session is shaped around your dog, not the other way around.
We recently won a competition with John Jenkins Photography and had a wonderful experience whilst there. John himself was not only great with us, but also our dog, Maxy… the kind of dog that you instantly regret taking out in public!

After your session, you’ll return for a relaxed cinematic viewing where your finished images are revealed on the big screen. There’s no pressure to buy, just clear guidance to help you choose the images and wall art you genuinely love.
This is where your favourite moments become framed artwork you’ll enjoy seeing in your home every day.
Seeing the photos for the first time was amazing. John captured our dog’s personality perfectly and we honestly struggled to choose because we loved so many of them. The viewing session was relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure at all.

Your finished portraits are designed to be enjoyed, not forgotten. Displayed as framed wall art, they bring warmth, personality, and daily reminders of the bond you share with your dog something you’ll smile at every time you walk past.
The finished images are absolutely stunning and look incredible on our wall. Every time we walk past them, they make us smile — they capture our dog perfectly and feel like part of our home now.

Leicester owners come to our studio for one reason: they want portraits that feel like their dog — not a stiff, rushed photoshoot where everything depends on perfect behaviour.
Our sessions are designed to be calm, guided, and genuinely enjoyable, even if your dog is nervous, excitable, reactive, older, or still in the “puppy chaos” stage.
What makes the experience different:
A private, appointment-only studio (quiet and distraction-free, ideal for sensitive dogs)
A relaxed pace with time to settle — breaks, sniffing, treats, and patience built in
One photographer from start to finish (John) so the style and service stay consistent
Experience with all types of dogs — from confident characters to rescue dogs and worriers
Finished portraits made for your walls, not just “files on a phone”
If you’re coming from Leicester city centre, Oadby, Wigston or Glenfield, it’s an easy drive to our Lutterworth studio with parking right outside — so the whole experience starts stress-free before you even walk in.
Dog owners come to our Lutterworth studio because the experience is designed to remove pressure, not add to it. Sessions are calm, private, and fully guided with time for sniffing, settling, and breaks when needed, so your dog stays comfortable and we capture natural expressions.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be looked after by John personally. That means the relaxed, natural style you see in the gallery is exactly what you’ll receive, with gentle direction that keeps things easy for both you and your dog.
Private, appointment-only studio with no walk-ins or distractions
Dog-friendly setup with time for sniffing, settling and treats
Real Google reviews and repeat clients. No staged shoots or “model calls”
One photographer (John) from start to finish for consistent style and service
Calm pace with breaks for kids and dogs. No rushing, no pressure
Simple prep guidance: what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect
Leicester dog owners often tell us the same thing, they love the city, but finding the right environment for relaxed dog photography can be difficult. Busy parks, other dogs, cyclists, noise, and muddy conditions mean outdoor sessions don’t always suit every dog, especially those that are young, excitable, or easily distracted.
Our private studio in Lutterworth offers a calm alternative just outside the city. It’s a quiet, appointment-only space where your dog isn’t competing for attention or reacting to unexpected distractions. Everything is controlled, from the lighting to the pace of the session, allowing your dog to settle naturally and show their true personality.
For many Leicester clients, that calm environment makes all the difference. Instead of worrying about behaviour or weather, you can relax knowing the session is designed around your dog’s comfort, resulting in portraits that feel natural, timeless, and genuinely reflect who your dog is.

Dogs change quickly. In the early years, they seem to grow overnight. Later on, those slower, gentler moments become even more precious. It’s often only when we look back that we realise how much we wish we’d captured sooner.
The sooner you book your dog’s portrait session, the sooner you can enjoy seeing them as beautiful wall art in your home — not lost in a camera roll, but displayed where they make you smile every single day.
Our studio sessions are deliberately limited so every dog gets the time, patience, and calm attention they need. If you’ve been thinking about booking “one day”, this is your sign to turn today’s moments into something you’ll treasure for years.

Your dog photography session takes place in our private, purpose-built studio in Lutterworth — designed for owners who want a calm, relaxed experience without distractions.
Unlike busy high-street studios, your session is appointment-only and unrushed. This gives your dog time to settle, explore, and feel comfortable, which is when the most natural expressions appear.
Every session is personally photographed by John, so the relaxed style you see throughout our gallery is exactly what you’ll experience on the day.
Your session lasts up to an hour and is shaped around your dog. There’s time for two background styles, outfit changes if you’d like them, and breaks whenever needed.
We usually begin with a relaxed, playful approach to help your dog feel at ease, before moving into more artistic portraits using our dramatic dark background — the images that often become favourite wall art.
Nothing is rushed, and there’s no pressure for perfect behaviour. Some dogs take the lead, others need a little encouragement — both work beautifully.
A few days after your session, you’ll return to the studio for a private cinematic viewing where your finished images are revealed on the big screen.
Your photographs are professionally edited and presented as a short HD movie — a moment many owners describe as emotional, joyful, and unforgettable.
There’s no pressure to buy. John will guide you through the images and help you choose the portraits and wall art that feel right for your home.
From framed prints to statement wall art, everything is designed to be enjoyed every day, not stored away on a device.
When you book with John Jenkins Photography, the person you speak to, meet, and see in the portfolio is the same person photographing your dog.
There are no hand-offs, no production lines, and no surprises — just a consistent, calm approach from start to finish.
We take the time to understand your dog and what makes them special. That personal attention is what allows us to create portraits that feel genuine, expressive, and meaningful — not staged or forced.
Dogs are part of the family here, and they’re treated that way throughout the experience.
