Stress-Free Family & Dog Photography
Studio Established 2008
Many dog owners think they’ll book a photoshoot “someday,” but time passes faster than we realise. Puppies turn into adults, faithful companions grow older, and before long, those joyful expressions and wagging tails become cherished memories. Many Rugby dog owners tell us they want portraits that feel properly considered, not something rushed between work, school runs, or weekend commitments.
As an experienced dog photographer near Rugby, I capture your pet’s personality before those moments fade, the sparkle in their eyes, the playful tilt of their head, or the quiet comfort when they rest beside you.
Our welcoming studio in Lutterworth offers a peaceful, private space where every dog feels safe, calm, and understood. For a lot of families around Rugby, having a calm, private studio session feels like a welcome contrast to busy parks, shared spaces, and unpredictable outdoor shoots. There’s no rush, just patience, care, and portraits that reflect your dog’s true spirit.
Just a short drive from Rugby (about 10–15 minutes) via the A426, it’s easy to pop over from areas like Bilton, Hillmorton, Cawston, or Long Lawford for a relaxed indoor session.
Dog owners come to our Lutterworth studio because the experience is designed to remove pressure, not add to it. Sessions are calm, private, and fully guided with time for sniffing, settling, and breaks when needed, so your dog stays comfortable and we capture natural expressions.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be looked after by John personally. That means the relaxed, natural style you see in the gallery is exactly what you’ll receive, with gentle direction that keeps things easy for both you and your dog.
Private, appointment-only studio with no walk-ins or distractions
Dog-friendly setup with time for sniffing, settling and treats
Real Google reviews and repeat clients. No staged shoots or “model calls”
One photographer (John) from start to finish for consistent style and service
Calm pace with breaks for kids and dogs. No rushing, no pressure
Simple prep guidance: what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect
Our dog photographer Rugby sessions are ideal if you:
Have a bouncy puppy and want to remember this stage
You’re based in Rugby, maybe in Bilton, Hillmorton, Brownsover, Cawston or Dunchurch and want a professional indoor studio that’s still nearby
Have a nervous, rescue or reactive dog who needs a calm, controlled space
Want portraits of you and your dog together, not just your dog on their own
You love your weekend walks along the canal near Newbold or out towards the Avon, but want timeless portraits where your dog isn’t covered in mud
Would love finished wall art and framed prints, not just photos stuck on a phone
Situated in Lutterworth, just a short drive from Rugby along the A426, we’re a trusted local dog photographer Rugby owners choose when they want more than just a quick phone snap. Many of our clients visit from areas like Bilton, Hillmorton and Cawston, as well as nearby towns including Leicester, Hinckley, Market Harborough and Coventry. Whether it’s just your dog or dog-and-family together, your session is all about creating portraits you’ll genuinely love.
We had a fantastic experience with John at John Jenkins Photography. From start to finish, he made the whole photoshoot feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. John was brilliant with our puppy, Nala, showing plenty of patience and understanding, which made a huge difference and put us all at ease.

Not sure how your dog will behave, what to bring, or whether they’ll sit still at all? That’s completely normal — and it doesn’t matter if they don’t. This is your dog’s session, not ours, and we work at their pace.
Before your dog photography session we’ll chat through things like leads, harnesses, favourite toys and treats, grooming, and whether you’d like to be in some of the portraits too. For extra reassurance, you can read our guide “How to Prepare Your Dog for a Photo Session”, or just give us a call to talk it all through.
We recently won a competition with John Jenkins Photography and had a wonderful experience whilst there. John himself was not only great with us, but also our dog, Maxy… the kind of dog that you instantly regret taking out in public!

Seeing the photos for the first time was amazing. John captured our dog’s personality perfectly and we honestly struggled to choose because we loved so many of them. The viewing session was relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure at all.

The finished images are absolutely stunning and look incredible on our wall. Every time we walk past them, they make us smile — they capture our dog perfectly and feel like part of our home now.

From start to finish, he made the whole photoshoot feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. John was brilliant with our puppy, Nala, showing plenty of patience and understanding, which made a huge difference and put us all at ease. What we appreciated most was his approach - there was absolutely no pressure or sales push, which we respected and valued highly. The focus was clearly on capturing great moments and making the experience a positive one. We would very much recommend John to anyone looking for a professional, friendly photographer who truly cares about their clients.Posted on Kirsty SpibyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would definitely recommend ❤ so professional and marley loved it. wonderful communication after the photoshot. Fantastic quality of the photos much appreciated of your time and energy 👏Posted on Kirsty WalshTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wow is all i can say. We won a dog photography shoot and framed photo with John this month. We've been back to see the images and we had no words!!! From the start John was incredibly friendly, and welcoming. Our autistic daughter (who's very unpredictable) loved the shoot and when she had had enough, she had breaks, and John focused on our dog whose photos are beyond what I imagined they'd be. We have purchased all the images (with absolutely no pressure from John, who was adamant there is no expectation to purchase from the beginning). But to lose them would be a tragedy. The photos will be treasured forever and we can't wait to have them on display in our home/in an album. And we're pretty sure they'll be in our families homes too once they see them! 😍 thank you so much 💓Posted on JuanitaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I ,1000% recommend John Jenkins. Our photos are absolutely amazing. He made us feel comfortable and right at home. But the one thing that really stood out is that my autistic son felt comfortable. Brilliant brilliant work.Posted on Chris BrendTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Visited John recently with my partner and our two young daughters (5) & (2) John was great, made us feel at ease from the beginning and despite our daughters not wanting to sit still for long at the best of times he managed to get some great photos that we’ll have as memories forever. Thanks JohnPosted on Terri BeechTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would 100% recommend this photo shoot with john jenkins photography. The price is as expected being a premium experience.Posted on Donna TuckerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I won a completion with my family and two dogs. It was a very hardworking day especially when both dogs are extremely curious however John was brilliant from start to finish. And today I took my sister and sister in law to look at the photos and omg they were absolutely amazing and it was really hard to pick a favourite as I loved them all. I cannot wait to get them all back. I would like to thank John for doing an amazing jobPosted on Hannah ConnollyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. John has years of experience working with a wide variety of dogs, including rescues, reactive pups, and nervous animals.
One of my top recommendations to have a great photoshoot with your dog, especially if they are full of energy or nervous, is to take your dog for a walk before hand. This calms the dog down and uses up some of that energy. There are many good dog walks and parks in the Rugby area such as Draycote Water Country Park, Cawston Spinney and Brinklow Circular to name a few.
