Professional Dog Photography Near Rugby

Many dog owners think they’ll book a photoshoot “someday,” but time passes faster than we realise. Puppies turn into adults, faithful companions grow older, and before long, those joyful expressions and wagging tails become cherished memories. Many Rugby dog owners tell us they want portraits that feel properly considered, not something rushed between work, school runs, or weekend commitments.

As an experienced dog photographer near Rugby, I capture your pet’s personality before those moments fade, the sparkle in their eyes, the playful tilt of their head, or the quiet comfort when they rest beside you.

Our welcoming studio in Lutterworth offers a peaceful, private space where every dog feels safe, calm, and understood. For a lot of families around Rugby, having a calm, private studio session feels like a welcome contrast to busy parks, shared spaces, and unpredictable outdoor shoots. There’s no rush, just patience, care, and portraits that reflect your dog’s true spirit.

Just a short drive from Rugby (about 10–15 minutes) via the A426, it’s easy to pop over from areas like Bilton, Hillmorton, Cawston, or Long Lawford for a relaxed indoor session.

Feedback from a Rugby client...

Really pleased with the photos John took of our two dogs. He was calm and patient, especially with a very excited puppy. We returned the following week to view the photos which were excellent and he explained the different packages in great detail but there was no pressure to buy anything. We had a great experience and would highly recommend John!

Who Our Rugby Dog Photoshoots Are Perfect For

Our dog photographer Rugby sessions are ideal if you:

  • Have a bouncy puppy and want to remember this stage

  • Have a nervous, rescue or reactive dog who needs a calm, controlled space

  • Want portraits of you and your dog together, not just your dog on their own

  • You love your weekend walks along the canal near Newbold or out towards the Avon, but want timeless portraits where your dog isn’t covered in mud

  • Would love finished wall art and framed prints, not just photos stuck on a phone

4 Simple Steps to Create Stunning Wall Art for Your Home

Owner and dog together during a friendly session with dog photographer Rugby

1. Book your stress-free session

Situated in Lutterworth, just a short drive from Rugby along the A426, we’re a trusted local dog photographer Rugby owners choose when they want more than just a quick phone snap. Many of our clients visit from areas like Bilton, Hillmorton and Cawston, as well as nearby towns including Leicester, Hinckley, Market Harborough and Coventry. We had a fantastic experience with John at John Jenkins Photography. From start to finish, he made the whole photoshoot feel relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable. 2. Turn up and enjoy the fun

Not sure how your dog will behave, what to bring, or whether they’ll sit still at all? That’s completely normal — and it doesn’t matter if they don’t. This is your dog’s session, not ours, and we work at their pace.

Before your dog photography session we’ll chat through things like leads, harnesses, favourite toys and treats, grooming, and whether you’d like to be in some of the portraits too. For extra reassurance, you can read our guide How to Prepare Your Dog for a Photo Session, or just give us a call to talk it all through.

We recently won a competition with John Jenkins Photography and had a wonderful experience whilst there. John himself was not only great with us, but also our dog, Maxy… the kind of dog that you instantly regret taking out in public!

3. View your photos

There’s no hard sell, just a simple, elegant range of products with both traditional and modern finishes, and some digital special offers too. All the choices are yours.

Seeing the photos for the first time was amazing. John captured our dog’s personality perfectly and we honestly struggled to choose because we loved so many of them. The viewing session was relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure at all.

Meet John - your photographer

John Jenkins of John Jenkins Photography

Why Choose John Jenkins Photography Over Other Studios?

One Photographer. One Vision – Always.

At larger Rugby photo studios, you never know who will be photographing your session. But at John Jenkins Photography, every image on our website was taken by John and he’ll be the one photographing your family too.

You can trust that you’re getting the quality, warmth, and professionalism you see in our portfolio, no surprises, no hand-offs, no compromise.

Personal Attention. No Studio Production Lines.

Other studios may offer flashy deals or fast-paced shoots with limited time and less personalisation. We don’t do rushed. We take time to get to know your family and deliver a one-to-one service that makes the whole experience enjoyable and memorable.

A bit of advice for a great photoshoot with your dog

One of my top recommendations to have a great photoshoot with your dog, especially if they are full of energy or nervous, is to take your dog for a walk before hand. This calms the dog down and uses up some of that energy. There are many good dog walks and parks in the Rugby area such as Draycote Water Country ParkCawston Spinney and Brinklow Circular to name a few.
